CARV leather bags, backpacks and accessories are designed and entirely handcrafted in our leather workshop on the North Devon/Cornwall border. The CARV studio is an original oak-framed building with straw-bale insulated walls constructed by community volunteers, surrounded by the stunning natural coastal landscape of the Hartland Peninsula - the perfect place for inspiring beautifully sustainable designs.

We now welcome visitors to the CARV studio as a shop with regular weekly hours. The studio is within our smallholding where we also grow food in a soil friendly no-dig way, manage willow and hazel coppices, and are in the process of creating meadows, wilderness, an organic fruit orchard and edible forest. It’s well worth a visit and we are excited to announce you can now stay with us.

Stay With Us

We’re delighted to announce the launch of our new holiday retreat - a two-bedroom stone barn conversion nestled in nature by the wild Cornish coast. Guests have a private garden and access to explore our 4 acres of meadows, orchards and woodlands, as well as being able to visit the CARV studio just next door and book private introductory leatherworking workshops. Studio & Shop Opening Hours

The CARV studio is currently open weekly on Friday 11 - 2pm and Saturday 11 - 4pm. If you can’t make this we would be delighted to open for you outside of these times - please get in touch with CARV here to arrange a visit.

As well as opening regularly to visitors, for shopping and to see the making in action, we will be hosting a series of exciting events over the coming months, including children's story times, pop up cafes, shopping and music. Do watch this space and sign up for our newsletter for more info.

For those further afield, the online leather goods store is always open and leather samples can be sent out free of charge. We run exclusive Sample Sales online from time to time so do keep an eye out on our social media pages.
